CSIT Finland Oy participated in the Secur-e-health project to ensure the management of access rights to confidential health data and to produce a component for consent management in the use of health data.
Secur-e-health was launched at the beginning of 2023 and has now been completed after three years. Five countries participated in the project: Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Finland. CSIT Finland was part of the Finnish consortium, which also included Bittium, Mediconsult, Nordic Healthcare Group, Solita, Success Clinic, and VTT. In total, the project brought together 30 partners. In Finland, the project was funded by Business Finland.
CSIT was responsible for health data security and access management in the project. Securing confidential health information requires strong identity and access rights management, which enables precise definition of access to sensitive information. Only those parties with permission may utilize and process the information, and only to the extent that the granted rights allow. During the project, new solutions were developed for the secure management of digital identities and the associated access rights.
The Secur-e-health project is a clear demonstration of the results that emerge when healthcare, technology, and research experts work closely together towards a common goal: to promote secure, privacy-respecting, and interoperable information exchange in Europe and beyond.
The journey does not end here. The technologies, frameworks, and partnerships built within Secur-e-health continue to evolve and advance the next generation of secure, human-centered digital healthcare solutions. Through collaboration, we have demonstrated that privacy protection and effective data utilization can be combined to improve healthcare outcomes.
